We can offer

Building a successful business requires knowledge, expertise and guidance from a host of experienced people. Our team will advise you on every aspect of setting-up a poultry-laying site, covering everything from design and specification of the building(s) to obtaining planning permission. We will ensure that your new business venture launches and runs successfully, with on-going support being an integral part of our working relationship. What’s more, Stonegate’s fully integrated production contracts guarantee the purchase of all the eggs you produce from your enterprise.

Should you simply be looking for a stand-alone service, Stonegate also offer a source of high quality point of lay pullets. We provide you with a range of options tailored to your business, from traditional breed, organic to conventional free-range supply contracts.

Our Producers Need…

From producing wholesome organic eggs to delicious free-range eggs, there are a few essential attributes required for any successful poultry site:

  1. A reasonably level, free-draining piece of grassland (area of land available will govern the number of birds that it is permissible).
  2. Potential good highway access.
  3. Some prior livestock experience.

All new poultry buildings require planning permission from your local authority. We can suggest and recommend a proven planning consultant team to assist with your planning application.

The flock cycle for free range and organic egg production is 14 months, and the enterprise requires management and labour seven days a week during this period.

Stonegate Pullet Finance Scheme

Stonegate is very pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new pullet finance facility that is now available to the Stonegate farmers’ supply base.

This new facility has been created in partnership with Oxbury, the only UK bank dedicated to British agriculture and is structured to complement free range egg production cycles.

There are two flexible pullet finance options available:

  • Stonegate 13 Pullet Finance – A 13-month facility with interest only repayments for the first 3 months, followed by 10 capital and interest repayments. This term is tailored for a standard production cycle of 16 to 76 weeks.
  • Stonegate 15 Pullet Finance – A 15-month facility with interest only repayments for the first 3 months, followed by 12 capital and interest repayments. This term is tailored to the longer white bird production cycle of 16 – 100 weeks.

Following the application, you will be contacted by an Oxbury Relationship Manager.

Both facilities are flexible, farms can apply for a minimum of £25,001 in finance up to the full or part cost of the pullet invoice and choose to either stick to the scheduled terms or start to make repayments early.

Stonegate Pullet Finance has been designed for better farm cash flow performance at the beginning of the flock. This initial 3-month period of birds coming into peak lay can weigh heavy on cashflows as feed, staff and other operating costs continue to leave the farm without the income from eggs.

Both options have a fixed interest rate of 8%. There is no arrangement fee and there is no requirement to move the farm’s current banking arrangements.

To apply, simply click here* or contact your Oxbury Relationship Manager.

Oxbury The Agriculture Bank

The scheme is only available in mainland UK. Oxbury do not cover Northern Ireland.

*Subject to status. Terms and conditions apply.
